Petrochemicals
giant spreads product knowledge
Reliance
Industries, one of the largest petrochemical corporations
in the world, has got knowledge and training packages
done on Elicitus to support its primary petrochemical
products: PVC, polypropylene and polyethylene.
The products are sold in different grades for different
uses. There was a need for comprehensive, audiovisual
product information packages for a wide audience:
dealers, franchisees, and the company's own sales
and development teams.
A
large number of such knowledge and training modules
have been developed using Elicitus. Typically, each
module is about a series of a grade of a product and
runs for about 45 to 60 minutes.
Apart
from exhaustive textual and visual data, the modules
are rich in video and audio, including clips of tests,
sectional views and voice over.

Nasan
Medicals
|
Medical
equipment manufacturer trains customers
Nasan
Medicals is an innovative, award-winning manufacturer
of a wide range of medical equipment including respiratory
systems and cardiology testing equipment. Training
new users of these products on site on all installation
and operational procedures would have been expensive.
Supply of printed manuals would have been inadequate
as several operations had to be actually `shown'.
The
company was hence looking for a product that would
enable its training faculty to develop interactive,
audiovisual learning packages for its customers, quickly
and without knowledge of programming.
Nasan
Medicals selected Elicitus as its authoring tool and
is tremendously happy with its choice. Says a senior
officer of the company, "It's been a wonderful
experience to see our product manuals with deep interactive
and instructional experiences being made using Elicitus.
As claimed, we could develop learning courses for
our medical equipment without programming knowledge.
Harbingers' customer support has been excellent.". |

AccelTree
|
Software
firm trains end users
AccelTree
is the innovator of Fulcrum, a Java development tool
that uses a proprietary concept of code templates
to construct efficient Java objects and applications.
Unlike conventional code generators, which impose
their coding techniques and run-time environments
on the users, Fulcrum allows users to build their
own coding standards and switch to manual coding at
any point of time.
AccelTree needed to produce a computer-based tutorial
to enable new users to get a quick grasp of Fulcrum's
scope and functions. While it was not new to the concept
of e-learning, it chose to partner with Harbingers
to meet this objective.
The
step-by-step product tutorial developed through Elicitus
has helped AccelTree greatly. Says a senior officer
of the company, "Elicitus helped create learning
experiences very systematically. Changes were easily
possible. Features like built-in sequential navigation
and assessments really added to the learning." |
